Notes: This table aims to present national surveys. Exceptionally some relevant regional surveys are presented. Some city surveys reported by countries were not included as they tend to produce higher prevalence estimates, which are not comparable with estimate 'Data collection' means 'data collection method used in the survey': 'interview.' (face to face interview), 'phone' (telephone interview), 'mail' (mailed questionnaire), 'Multimethod' (Multi-Method - interview, mail or internet). 'Survey sample' refers to number of respondents to the complete national surveys (Net sample). In some cases, national surveys cover originally broader age range than that presented here for 'All adults' (15 to 64) and 'Young adults' (15 to 34), and the original In surveys with small sample sizes results should be interpreted with caution. Countries were asked to report results using, as far as possible, EMCDDA standard age groups (all adults: 15 to 64, young adults: 15 to 34). In countries where age ranges are more restrictive prevalence estimates may tend to be slightly higher.
