Figure EYE-2 Lifetime prevalence for drugs other than cannabis among 15/16 year old students – Part (i) Changes 1995 to 2003 in lifetime prevalence (percentage) of ecstasy use

Figure EYE-02 part i

Notes:

Since 1995 the greatest increases in LTP for ecstasy occurred in the Czech Republic and most of the new Eastern European Member States. Decreases that took place in Ireland and the UK before 1999 but LTP has remained more stable since then.

*In Bulgaria, France, Greece and Romania increases are since 1999 due to lack of data for 1995.

Netherlands increase since 1999 and the 1999 survey is not strictly comparable with ESPAD.

Spain did not participate in the ESPAD survey. The data included here is based on a Spanish survey conducted November-December 2002. Drug prevalence questions may be considered comparable to the ESPAD questions but other aspects of the method mean that the Spanish data is not strictly comparable.
