Estimated number of clients receiving treatment each year as shown in the graphic is different from the number entering treatment each year.

Information has been updated from 2006 bulletin wherever available.

In some years, data were combined because of missing information from two years’ data, but on average represent clients for only one year.

Data for 2003 and 2005 were provided by NFPs through Standard Table 21 'Treatment availability' submitted in 2004 and 2006. The national data are available in Table HSR-7. Value for 2003 is underestimated as data for Scotland and N. Ireland not available.
