Notes:

Samples are of injectors reported from studies on infectious disease (HIV and HCV). The latest available sample for each country during the period has been used, subject to being at least 100 injectors.

1 - Sweden. Data are from 2006

2 - Latvia: Data are from 2002.

3 - Sample sizes are a minimum of 100, except for: Netherlands: sample size is 89 for both new and young;Belgium: sample size is 70 for young and 34 for new; Turkey: sample size is 38 for both new and young; Austria sample size is 31 for new; Latvia: sample size is 93 for new.

4 - Spain: Data for new IDUs are from 2002.
