2004 was taken as reference as it was the year on which there is available information for almost all EU countries (in 2005 and 2006 information is missing for some Member States). To see the evolution of the proportion of victims under the age of 25 years per country, see graphics in the Statistical bulletin 2008.
For Czech Republic, EMCDDA Selection D was used instead of the national definition. National definition also includes poisoning by psychoactive medicines, which accounts for most cases.
