Notes:

Data were not available for: Belgium, Estonia, Norway.

When proportion of clients by main drug is 0, ‘% of injectors’ is blank. If no data is available, the cell is left blank.

 (1) Data on amphetamines include amphetamines and ecstasy.

 (2) Last data available refer to 2005.

 (3) No data on injecting rates for 2005.

 (4) Amphetamines rates refer to stimulants in general.

 (5) Data on first treatments were not reported for 2006 as the figures were too small. Data refer to all treatments. Values based on total sample size = 193.

 (6) In the case of Austria, up to 2005 data only refer to clients in substitution treatment, using opioids as primary drug. Since 2006 new data collection has been conducted.

 (7) Last data available refer to 2005. Amphetamines refer to amphetamines+ ecstasy.

 (8) No data on injection available for 2006. Cocaine includes cocaine + freebase.

 (9) Last data available refer to 2004. It includes data for outpatient clients and clients treated in prison. Data for outpatient clients was validated, however data collection for prison clients was still in the process of development, thus figures are underestimated. With effect from next year the process of data validation for prison clients will be implemented.

 (10) Data relate to the period from 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2006 for the UK.
