Actual numbers of clients are not available but a large majority of prescribing will be for opiate use, and of this a large majority will be for methadone, although there is growing use of buprenorphine. The figures will overestimate the extent of substitute prescribing. Client numbers refer to UK fiscal years 1 April (of the reporting year) to 31 March following calendar year. | |||
