Data are not comparable to those reported in previous years as cases were then reported by year of report. Data by year of diagnosis are closer to true trends in infection however some reporting delay in the most recent years is likely (data not adjusted for reporting delays).

(1) Data not available by transmission group for adult cases after 2002, numbers of IDU reported separately.
