Sample sizes (n) refer to the number of respondents for 15- to 34-year-old group. For number of respondents for the whole surveys, see General population survey tables in the Statistical bulletin 2011.
Data are from the most recent national surveys available in each country (see General population survey tables, EMCDDA Statistical bulletin 2011).
For young adults, the EMCDDA standard age range is 15 to 34 years (Denmark and the UK from 16 years, Estonia, Hungary and Germany from 18 years). Variations in age ranges may slightly influence some national differences. In some countries, the figures were recalculated at national level, to adapt as far as possible to standard EMCDDA age groups.
The most recent General population surveys reported by the Czech Republic display a wide variation in results, the reason for which is being explored, but may be due to differing sampling methods. The data is provided for information, but given the lack of comparability between surveys should be treated with caution.
