Countries included: BGBulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom and Turkey.

Lithuania, Germany: heroin includes all opiates.

United Kingdom: data refer to the period of treatment from 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2005.

Spain, Poland, Slovenia: data refer to year of treatment 2004.
