 Numbers are rounded to the nearest kg except for quantities less than 1 kg where more precise information is provided when available.   

 (1) In 1996, 1998 and 2003 data include both ecstasy and amphetamine seized; see Table SZR-14 for tablets additionally seized in 1996 and 1998. 511 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 1997; 22090 in 1999; and 18397 in 2000.   

 (2) Accurate data are not available before 2002 due to double counting of seizures by police and customs reports. 56 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2005.   

 (3) 549 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2004.    

 (4) In 1995: the number of seizures based on offences; since 1996: the numbers of seizures based on police register. Data include both seizures of amphetamine and methamphetamine.

 (14) a) Due to different methods and definitions among agencies and among the years, figures do not permit conclusions about developments and trends. They must be seen as a minimum estimate of seized drugs in the Netherlands. b) Registration methods and definitions differ per police region, which leads to unreliability in the information and makes it difficult to interpret the figures. Figures and seizures are truncate, less than 10 kg / 10 liters are not reported. c) 850 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 1995; 1025 in 1996; 102240 in 1997; 242409 in 1998; 45847 in 1999; 20592 in 2001; 1028 in 2002; 14000 in 2003; 1000 in 2005; 38100 in 2006; and 1400 in 2007. Both 2004 and 2005 data are based on seizures made only by some police forces: they are not comparable between them, nor with previous years. In 2006, data include 3 kg of amphetamine pasta. 240 l and 40 kg of pasta were also seized in 2007.   

 (15) 26 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 1997; 4 in 1998; 37 in 1999; 18 in 2000; 25 in 2001; 34 in 2002; 125 in 2003; 32 in 2004; 2452 tablets and 35 capsules in 2005; 1535 tablets in 2006; 22778 tablets in 2007; and 132078 tablets in 2008.   

 (16) 89 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2001; 256 in 2002; 218 in 2003; and 1070.5 in 2007.    

 (17) Before 2001, data include both amphetamine and methamphetamine seizures. 5 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2001; 6 in 2002; and 3 in 2003.    

 (18) Before 2001, data include both amphetamine and methamphetamine seizures. Fenmetrazin is included in amphetamine seizures. 284 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2000; 782 in 2001; 92 in 2002; and 201 in 2006.   

 (19) Data refer to seizures made by the Customs and the National Service for Combating Organized Crime (NACOC) from the Ministry of Interior. 8513 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2000; 660 in 2001; 135444 in 2002; and 118201 in 2003.

 (22) Up to 2003 the amount of large seizures only is reported; from 2004 all seizures are reported. Police data include both amphetamine and methamphetamine seizures. 1.4 l of amphetamine were also seized in 2007.    

 (23) 776 amphetamine tablets were also seized in 2007.   

 (24) Before 2006 data have been reported on a calendar year basis. Since 2006 seizures data will be published on a financial year basis (Data reported for 2006 is for 2006/07, data reported in 2007 is for 2007/08 and so on). There are no customs data for Scotland and Northern Ireland in 2006/07. In 2007 data are for England, Wales and Northern Ireland only (England and Wales reported both police and customs seizures and Northern Ireland only police seizures); no data for Scotland is available.
